Benefits
Antioxidant defense
A 2023 pooled analysis of randomized trials of generic pomegranate supplements found lower blood markers of oxidative stress, including MDA and oxidized LDL, and higher antioxidant enzyme readings. These are laboratory measurements in blood, not evidence of protected cells or blood vessels, and none of the pooled trials used EllagiRush.
Cardiovascular support
The heart related evidence here is thin and indirect. One randomized trial gave pomegranate juice for a year to people on kidney dialysis, a very specific patient group, and reported lower oxidative stress and inflammation markers plus fewer infections. The other source is a 2009 review article summarizing older pomegranate juice studies rather than new data. Nothing cited shows what a pomegranate extract does for blood vessel function or circulation in a healthy person.
Gut and cellular health
Gut bacteria convert pomegranate ellagitannins into compounds called urolithins, which are an active research area. How much you produce depends on your own gut bacteria, and many people convert very little. None of the studies cited on this page measured urolithins or gut health, so this is background science rather than a demonstrated benefit of this product.
Mechanism of action
Ellagitannin antioxidants
Pomegranate's ellagitannins and punicalagins neutralize free radicals in laboratory tests, and human trials of generic pomegranate products have shown shifts in blood antioxidant markers. This is a proposed mechanism measured in test tubes and blood samples, not a proven health outcome.
Urolithin conversion
Gut bacteria transform pomegranate ellagitannins into urolithins. Urolithin research is still early, output varies a lot from person to person depending on gut bacteria, and none of the references on this page tested urolithins, cellular renewal or metabolic outcomes.
