In a 6-month randomized placebo-controlled trial run by the maker in 100 people with Grade II or III knee osteoarthritis, 200 mg/day of Kinexa® was reported to improve MRI cartilage thickness, WOMAC scores, knee strength, and walking speed. These results come from a conference abstract and have not been published in a peer-reviewed journal or independently replicated, so they should be read as preliminary. The two studies cited below are trials of collagen, which Kinexa® does not contain, and do not test this ingredient.
Strength and mobility for active aging
Kinexa is marketed to active-aging consumers who want to maintain joint function for continued activity. No published Kinexa trial has tested runners, athletes, or training performance, so this reflects marketing positioning rather than demonstrated evidence.
Mechanism of action
Musculoskeletal structure optimization
The three botanicals in Kinexa (turmeric, boswellia, Terminalia chebula) have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity in laboratory studies. How the finished blend affects cartilage, bone, or connective tissue in people has not been established in a published trial, and Kinexa contains no collagen.

100 adults aged 40 to 75 with Grade II or III knee osteoarthritis (50 men, 50 women).
The maker reports a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (n=100) giving 200 mg/day for 180 days, with MRI cartilage and WORMS scoring plus WOMAC, knee torque, and walk tests. Reported gains include roughly 10% greater cartilage thickness and improved WOMAC and strength scores. These results exist only as a conference abstract and have not been published in a peer-reviewed, PubMed-indexed journal, so they cannot be independently verified. The trial was run by the ingredient's maker.
